This series aims to explore the stages of the sibling bond through a physical narrative.

In the western world siblings are commonly brought up together, living in the same household from birth into young adulthood. These circumstances achieve a closeness and special bond that living apart does not. Most siblings at some point in their lives will be separated altering this bond.

The series tells a narrative through the performance of body language. A closeness and separation is felt and questioned throughout each photograph. The styling of this series uses tropes mainly found in young sibling and family portraiture such as studio lighting, white backgrounds, matching outfits and intimate body language. The figures in the photographs remain faceless to accentuate the changing body language. As the series progresses, a sense of unknowing develops. The photographs are taken in a stylized section of our home, to emphasize the importance of space and physical closeness.

Using my sisters and myself as models for this series, I aimed to document a fabrication of the shift in our relationship that is inevitably approaching.
